2 Job Design Job design is very important and provides the needed information as to what duties you will have in any job position. When it comes to any job position you will not have all the duties listed because at any given time duties can be added when needed. At the same time having as much information as possible is the best. In this paper it will speak about Kelley’s position and what the duties are. Office Manager If you run the front office and perform all the tasks of an office manager that is what your position will be called. If you provide training to office staff, run reports, and make sure everyone stays on task, and complete billing. That is the description of an office manager. Like most positions you always have someone to answer to, and for this position they will have to report to the market manager. Not every position will have a fancy name, but it is important to create a title that fits the position. The current position title is center support specialist, but the title did need an upgrade. Understanding the job The details to this position are first and foremost responsible for keeping the front office running smoothly. In this position you are responsible for printing and going over all the reports. Training all the front office staff, as well as billing and receiving. Customer service, speaking with patients and scheduling is also part of this position. One of the important aspects of this job is to know the positions of every job in the front office, you will not be able to train if you do not know how to do every job. The person who you will reach out to for help is the Marketing Manager. The details of any job are important so the employee will know what they are supposed to do, but at the same time more tasks can be added to the position. The purpose of this
3 position is to keep the organization running as smoothly as possible, and to be able to help everyone when needed. This position requires a high school diploma or higher. Computer skills are a must to be able to run reports and conduct the scheduling. You must have at least two years’ experience of customer service. You must have at least one year of medical billing, and 2 years of data entry for receiving vender items as well as paying venders. Understanding HIPPA procedures is necessary. Training will be provided to the requirements of this organization. Qualifications are an important aspect of job design; it is important to bring in the right person for the job (Pavlou, 2016). Even though this position is management it is an hourly position, with 40 hrs. a week, and more if needed, overtime will be paid. Hourly wage will be competitive for this position and will start off at per Salary.com the base pay will start off at $30.00 an hour in Phoenix Arizona (Salary.com, n.d.). This is not a salary position and will always be treated as an hourly position. Just because the title does have management in it, it does not mean that it must be a salary position. Because this is a full-time position there are benefits such as in medical, discounts, 401K. At times the working conditions might be a little stressful but fulfilling. This is a medical facility so you may encounter blood and medical issues. We do provide protection aids, but the front office may never encounter blood. The atmosphere is a friendly environment, with an open- door policy allowing anyone to come to management and seek help or advice. This position can always grow depending on the need of the organization, and just because everything is not broken down to every single step that needs to be done does not mean it wont grow, and that is why it is so important to know all the positions in the front office.
