Question 1 (2 points) You’ve already described the SLS, SHS, YIPS, and YEPS. Please now review these additional four measures that are added to your dataset: AHS, SGS, BAI, and BDI. Once you’ve looked through each rating form, answer these following questions for each measure listed below: A.) What does the acronym stand for, and what do you think total scores on the questionnaire represent? (Example: The SSRS is the Subjective Stress Response Scale, and scores represent how stressed a person was in the last two weeks.) B.) Question 2 (5 points) The BAI is a measure that is used, in part, to determine if an adult qualifies for an anxiety disorder. Let’s examine some distributions and answer the following questions. A.) What percentage of college students present “at risk” for an anxiety disorder? (Hint, look at the cumulative percentage of students who scored 16 or lower. Subtract that number from 100.) B.) Please examine the distributions of BAI scores for men compared to women (this is done through generating a “density plot” that is split across sex in the descriptive statistics.) How would you compare the distribution of anxiety in women compared to men? What similarities do you notice? What differences do you notice? C.) Please examine the distributions of BAI scores for those who reported “yes, I have a diagnosis” compared to those who reported “no, I do not have a diagnosis.” Remembering that 16 is the “cut off” for being at risk for an anxiety disorder, what stands out to you about these distributions?
