From Stave, 3 what I learned is that Scrooge is becoming a big softie or, he's getting nicer, one of those. But also that when he sees Tiny Tim all weak and sick that he actually cares for them, he then asks the Spirit, if Tiny Tim will survive, the Spirit just says “I see a vacant seat, in the poor chimney-corner and a crutch without an owner, carefully preserved. If these shadows remain unaltered by the Future, the child will die.” Scrooge then hangs his head (Not actually hang, he more like bows his head) in grief after the Spirit recites what Scrooge had said before. Then Scrooge and the ghost move on to another house, his nephew’s house to be exact, and they watch as Fred’s (His nephew) family and his wife’s family eat, drink, sing and

Impacted can be defined as having a strong influence in a positive manor on someone or something. Scrooge was impacted most by the Ghost of Christmas present in the novella A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens. The Ghost of Christmas present taught him how to show kindness to others, and showed Scrooge how he affected those around him.
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is one of the most classic stories that has been embraced by Western culture. There is a certain timelessness to the entire story, in that it demonstrates the powerful transformation of an incredibly stilted and unlikeable character to that of someone who is giving, kind and generous. The popularity and timelessness of this play is representative of how deeply human being want to believe in the possibility of change, even radical change, and that it's not too late to change one's life. However, the timelessness and popularity of this tale also reveals something else about human nature: there's a tendency such as an overwhelming whiff and desire for human beings to believe that transformation can be overnight and immediate. The reality is that most transformation and change takes years of hard work. However, change as it is presented in this play is a manifestation of the human desire to experience quick and instantaneous transformation, even with someone's character which has formed over a period of decades. In regards to the notion that "Ebenezer Scrooge is difficult to like, but easy to understand" this is generally true if an individual has had a fair amount of life experience. This paper will demonstrate that Ebenezer Scrooge is someone who has a fatal flaw, but the flaws which are demonstrated in this play, aren't as unique as some might view them. In many respects, Scrooge is

In this stave, the Ghost of Christmas Present appears to Scrooge, and shows him people having a happy Christmas, maybe trying to get Scrooge to like Christmas more. Scrooge hears Tiny Tim’s dad, Scrooge’s clerk, say a toast to Scrooge, and Scrooge sees how very poor his clerk is. When he sees his clerk, he sees a family who is very poor, yet they love each other very, very much, and are a happy family, despite the poverty in their home. Scrooge then asks the Ghost if Tiny Tim will live. The Ghost’s answer is no, he will not live, unless something changes. Otherwise, Tiny Tim will end up dead like Marley. As the Ghost of Christmas Present moves on, he takes Scrooge to a boat way out at sea, and shows him him how happy the sailors are. Before the boat appears, though, the Ghost shows Scrooge a lighthouse, where two men are very happy, just like the sailors on the boat out at sea. When Scrooge sees this, he thinks, “Wow. These people are happy, even without their families out there with them.” As time wears on, Mr. Ghost moves Scrooge on to his nephew Fred’s house. In the house, Fred is having a laugh with some of his buddies about how Scrooge doesn't believe in Christmas. Furthermore, Fred says he will ask Scrooge to come over for Christmas every year until he dies. After Fred’s announces this, they start to play some party games such as Blind-Man's Bluff, as well as

Characterization is the concept of creating characters for a narrative.. Characters in literature sometimes make dramatic transformations. In a Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, the character Scrooge dramatically changes his attitude about Christmas. In Stave 1, Dickens establishes Scrooge’s character as someone who is stingy and selfish. On page 3, it states,” Nobody ever stopped him in the street to say, with gladsome looks, “My dear Scrooge, how are you? When will you come to see me?” As the book stated, everyone in the neighborhood knew Scrooge was selfish and looked like an old grump. On page 3, it quotes, “No beggars implored him to bestow a trifle, no children asked him what it was o’clock, no man or woman ever once in all his life inquired the way to such and such a place, of
A Change of Heart In the book, A Christmas Carol, the author, Charles Dickens, explains an old man who is hateful, rude, cold-hearted, and very covetous named Ebenezer Scrooge. When the Cratchits were eating the meal, Scrooge asked if Tiny Tim would live and when the ghost says no, he is discouraged. As the text states, “If he be like to die, he better do it, and decrease the population.” (pg. 71) When Scrooge heard what the ghost said he was The vibe wasn’t was positive after stating his name, so that gives Scrooge reason to change. Scrooge had a miserable childhood where he was always in a boarding school and his parents never visited him. If you were sent to a boarding school and felt your parents forgot you, would you be an angry adult? Scrooge in the Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is a major character in the story in which he is not very nice to anybody because of his life happenings. When he appears in the story, he is greedy and doesn’t want to like anybody, he is a very unhappy man that only cares about himself. But at the end he kind of is clear that he was very childish and that he didn’t care about anyone else but himself so he decided he wanted to change his act. While he is with all the spirits, he goes from greedy and mean to clear of his mistakes, he wanted to be nice to everybody, and wanted to tell people that, by giving back to them in any way possible.

When the spirit first came, Scrooge said, (699) “Tonight, if you have aught to teach me, let me profit by it.” This tells us Scrooge is willing to learn from the Ghost unlike when the Ghost of Christmas past first visited. The first place the Ghost took Scrooge is to Bob Cratchit's family. Bob has many kids, one of which is sick and he uses crutches to get around. This is Tiny Tim. Scrooge asked, (707) “Spirit, tell me of Tiny Tim will live.” Spirit responds, “I see a vacant seat… the child will die.” Scrooge begged, “ No, no, kind Spirit! Say he will be spared!” Scrooge realized that he must change his actions and the amount he pays Bob to save the boy. This shows us that Scrooge has sympathy to the boy and the family. The next place the spirit takes him, is to his nephew's house where they are making fun of Scrooge. But, the nephew toasts scrooge. Scrooge said, (710) “Spirit, please, make me visible! Make me audible! I want to talk to with my nephew and niece.” This shows change because before Scrooge had nothing to do with his family. He also frowned upon his nephew marrying his
