The title of the article is Critical Thinking: An Extended Definition. The author, Professor Ken Petress, analyzes various definitions of critical thinking and provides his definition of the concept as well. It is vitally important when performing research on a topic that we completely understand the topic and that we can apply certain tests or questions to the topic in order to determine its relevance and validity. Conceptual Foundation What are the main concepts presented in the article? What information is the author using, and what is its relationship to the main issue? Does the information used appear relevant, significant, valid, and sufficient for the conclusions being drawn? Do you have enough information to determine whether the information is relevant, significant, and valid? The main concepts presented in the article are the varying definitions of each author on the concept of critical thinking. The information the author uses are definitions which are the opinions of varied authors and are similar in foundation in that to apply critical thinking one must be able to identify a problem, pose a question(s), provide valid supporting evidence, and come to a conclusion. Although the author’s definitions do not identify a problem, questions, evidence, or conclusions, the relationship Petress (2004) shows is that the reader must apply this process themselves as it is not always given. The information used does appear to be relevant, significant, and valid. The references the author listed does provide enough information for me to come to this conclusion. Since this work is a literature review and not a case study, numerical data are not necessary to determine validity of the information. Author's

The brain is composed of the visual cortex, which is responsible for processing visual information. In blind individuals the feature that makes up visions still exists in the visual cortex. Also based on human characteristics, some people are judgmental of certain pictures because of life events such as religion, culture, or even family.
Critical thinking is a vital task that must be done in our everyday lives. In “Becoming a Critic Of Your Thinking” found at criticalthinking.org, Dr. Linda Elder and Dr. Richard Paul explain critical thinking as “the disciplined art of ensuring that you use the best thinking you are capable of in any set of circumstances”. Even tough there are many different types of methods to achieve a better quality of critical thinking, Dr. Elder and Dr. Paul discuss four specific ones in the article. All strategies, however, force you to put yourself in an uncomfortable and difficult position to develop a better quality of thinking.
California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory (CCTDI) was implemented in order to collect quantitative data, and this particular inventory was designed to measure the disposition to think critically. Open-ended interviews were implemented to access candidates’ opinions regarding the method applied within the course, and independent t-test (or statistical hypothesis test) samples along with paired t-test samples were used to analyze quantitative data. Results indicated candidates had a positive outlook regarding the Moodle platform’s online argumentation application and the improvement it provided in critical thinking skills.

One of the necessary conditions within of this definition is that the idea to which the term ‘critical thinking’ is ascribed is a skill set. Critical thinking is using rational thoughts to effectively problem solve, answer a question or make a statement. Critical thinking allows intake of information using good judgment and analyzing the necessary steps to have a successful outcome. Critical thinking is skillful, responsible thinking that is conclusive to a good judgment because it is sensitive to context, relies on criteria, and is self-correcting (Nosich, 2012).
