Happiness
Happiness is the most sought after thing in the world and it is also one of the least understood, you could buy all the cars boats planes and houses available to you and you could still not be happy; why is that? It is because happiness doesn’t come in the form of an object, it is intangible. Happiness doesn’t come from wealth or from accomplishments you have made, but instead it comes from fulfilling your purpose in life. What you want to do in life and your purpose in life can be two very different things. While you might love to play basketball you are much better at teaching people than entertaining people which would mean you have a lot to contribute to society by being a teacher, but not just any teacher the best teacher you

War in itself is unjust there is no way to justify the killing of even one person much less the absurdly large number of lives taken in the war. While unjust there is seemingly no end in sight to war, because no country wants to be weaker than another country and no side wants to be the losing side, retaliation is not the answer to everything and maybe a less heavy footed decision has to be made in these situations, but war can also mean something good, something patriotic. A man fighting for his country against all odds, what does he get from it? Nothing other than the pride he gets for standing at arms with all his brothers fighting for their homes. These patriots even then are still losing their lives for seemingly nothing, what comes from winning a war other than the fight finally being over? Nothing, winning a war just ends the fighting.
War may not be justified but it sometimes may become necessary, when a war is over ideas there is no stopping it, there is no way to take some ones beliefs away from them and the people that have opposing beliefs will always think they are right and will fight for their belief till either the very end or until they have convinced every single other person they are
Just war encourages peace for all people and indicates that even though it isn’t the best solution, it is still required. Everyone has the duty to stop a potentially fatal or unjust attack against someone else, even if it meant using violence against the attacker. Plus, all states have some important rights that must not be violated by either people or states, so when they’re violated or potentially getting violated, that state is entitled to defend itself through whatever means necessary. Also, the state that did the violating lost their privilege to not have their own rights violated through means of violence. Therefore, just war is ethically permissible.
The ideas behind anti-war interpretations mainly stem from fear and devastation. Without a doubt, death is a result of war. The death of soldiers is a mournful but often unavoidable effect. Soldiers give their lives every day in service to their nation, and this fact often causes civilians to view them as heroes. But delving more into the topic of loss, many are unaware of the civilian lives taken by a war. It is not uncommon for victims of war to be used as pawns (Why is War Wrong). Innocent civilians can be driven from their homes, abused and beaten, and their towns are often burned and destroyed. Even more shocking to some is the fact that they are sometimes forced into the fighting by government officials (Why is War Wrong). “How could there be a way to justify this?” is often asked. Another negative effect of war is the economic burden. Yes, war does breed an environment where economic stability can be achieved through peace; however, the serious amounts of money used in fighting a war are often overlooked. Vast amounts of money are used in training for soldiers and military officers. Without the right type of training, officials would not have the necessary means to fight, and many wars would be over before they begin. Money is also used when devising and manufacturing weapons and machinery. Modern weapons and protection methods are extremely costly and greatly deepen a war
Attention Materials: Many times I have wondered what is true happiness. Is there such thing as true happiness? Can it even be attained if there is such a thing? Is it more of fulfilling desires, or satisfying psychological needs? Every person attempts to realize happiness in its fullest essence. It seems like today people are too busy trying to get rich. Nowadays it is believed that happiness lies in that new mansion, or a nice Ferrari. People are mistakingly assuming that wealth will bring to them a personal significance in which they will achieve happiness.
Happiness is something that all people, no matter what race, gender, or social class, strive for. Based on lifestyle or perspective each person has their independent idea of what happiness is, but everyone shares an end goal to live their definition of a happy life. Many people, though, struggle in finding their way to this goal. They face hardships and challenges that test their happiness every day. Happiness, though somewhat indirectly, does take learning and training to discover and maintain.
How can a war be truly just? Even if the war begins with good intention, innocent people can be harmed or killed and their property and land destroyed. Many people feel that all violence is wrong while there are many who accept war as the only option in a particular circumstance. For example, many people who joined the First Crusade felt as though they were doing the right thing. After all, Jerusalem was the home of Jesus, so Christians felt the fight was justified.
There are many questions surrounding the topic of war. Should we fight? How do we win? Why are we fighting? The most debatable question of all is if the war is considered just.
War has freed oppressed people and allowed them to feel a sense of pride about where they are from and how they got there. The Revolutionary War is a key example of this, the colonists felt violated and that their government was oppressing their natural rights. They fought with everything they had to break away, and the country became the United States of America. Today, people from the United States are very proud of what the colonists accomplished. They allowed America to be free, and to become great. When war allows people to form a better government, it is very beneficial. Without the Revolutionary War, America would not be America, and therefore it would never have become the world leader it is today. War has also saved people. In many instances, such as World War ll, war has actually saved lives. If no
People tend to feel the most happiness in their daily lives rather than happiness over all. For instance, if someone opens the door for you, does something outrageous, tells a funny story or simply reacts kindly to you, you can experience happiness. Laughing at someones joke can cause you to feel happy even for just a moment. Another definition of happiness in our daily lives is self appreciation such as, getting that new raise, getting an A on a test or even getting into the college you want. These examples all cause happiness in different but still rather large ways. We seem to think that happiness is so difficult to come by, we focus so hard on what happiness is that we don't even realize the simple things in life that are truly making a difference. We can become significantly happy without even noticing. Although happiness seems like it’s hard to find it’s not all that difficult. What’s hard to come by is the feeling of genuine happiness ; genuine happiness is what people truly look for.
A war that is justified is still a war, and no one wants to be in that kind of hell. The idea that the only way to win is to be the best at killing people so you can stop killing people and go home, is a way to survive. However, the rules keep changing and you are still there,
“Courage isn’t a matter of is or is not; it’s about being afraid and doing what has to be done in spite of it” (Jon Pertwee). War is always hard, no one wants it and many people try to avoid it. No one wants to see their kids die, or for them to see people they know very well, even love, burn. No one wants to bury their kid or their husband, father, wife, mother, or anyone. War in itself, is needed. War is profitable to the winning side, war reparations and the payments made to soldiers help the economy. War can also defend the natural human rights. It also bring people who would have never otherwise of talked become the closest friends. War also helps with the countries understanding of any scientific field. War is controversial but it can
One of the components of war that make it justful is that the cause of the war must be just. In other words, the attacking country must inflict lasting, grave, and certain damage for it to qualify as just to fight back. Also if basic human rights are being violated by a group of people then it is just for another entity to decide to go to war to free the victims of the inhumane aggressors and their torments upon the innocent human beings.
While many argue whether the war was justified, the war is ultimately unjust and other methods should have been used to intervene.
From the various points and examples given, it is clear the war is unjustified in many ways as it involves mass killings and is unethical, it destroys economies, having an impact on people and the country physically, and it causes great harm to a society, especially children. However, it can also be justified, only under very strict circumstances where it can prove to be
The Experience Of War Many authors have written about war themes, some extracts of the stories and poems that I have read and researched are The Upturned Face by Steven Crane .It is about a fictional war being fought in an imaginary Europe. Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell describes his senses and feeling of getting shot in the neck during battle. Exposure by Wilfred Owen, describes the horrors and reality of being in the trenches of the First World War. And The Making of Me by Robert Westall is about a shell-shocked grandfather who has the responsibility of looking after his grandchild.
War has been a part of human culture since it's birth. It has led to a great many massacres and has shown us the evil that exists within the souls of humanity. Some have even gone as far as saying that war is human nature. To better understand the reasons behind war and how it affects others, I've examined several different societies and cultures so as to better understand the necessity of war and see the cause of their external war attitude. To do so, different variables from two topics (military institutions and external war attitude) were matched up and crossed so as to look into the answers to these questions. The variables were then calculated and through these graphs, I was able to find different societies in which
