The Northern Territory, which covers over one-sixth of the Australian continent, contains a variety of habitats in which numerous species of wildlife live. These habitats range from the tropical north or Top End to the arid desert regions in the south. Several feral animals, including large mammals, inhabit these regions. Feral species in the Northern Territory include introduced wild animals such as rabbits, foxes, cane toads and deer. They also include livestock include buffalo, cattle, horses, donkey, camels and pigs. The wild life of Lake Argyle is very inhabitant, as there were many beautiful and majestic creatures that weren’t so shy to expose themselves to our presents. The wild life plays a huge part in this man-made lake, because not …show more content…
The impact they have in these national parks are rather positive or negative, curtain creatures/animals such as Cane Toads and Feral Pigs have impacted nature in a negative way. When asked Tom Cannavan (ODE Teacher) about what feral animal in your opinion has a major threat in the Lake Argyle environment, he relied with, “Cane Toads are the main species that are having a major impact on the Argyle environment, as they have cautioned many little insects and animals from their presence through Australia.” Cane toads are native to Central and South America, Cane Toads were first introduced to Australia in 1935 as there was approximately 3000 that were released into Northern Queensland. They were released as a mean of controlling the introduced French Cane Beetle and the Greyback Cane Beetle, by controlling, meaning by reducing the population of these introduced species. Cane Toads pose a threat to wildlife when eaten, because they release a toxin (bufotoxin) from across their backs. This toxin is present in both the adults and tadpoles, meaning Cane Toads may negatively impact a wide range
: Larchwood Lake may not ever be the same again. The story about Larchwood Lake is not that uncommon. Without doing extensive research into possible things that could occur by lowering the lake level, the Larchwood Lake Homeowner’s Association destroyed the very thing they were trying to protect. Carelessness and poor planning are not the only root causes however. There are a number of reasons that led to the degradation of Larchwood Lake that happen to relate to more macro level environmental issues. Those reasons are poorly designed environmental policy created by the E.P.A., poor understanding of lake ecology by the managers of the land, and false confidence in poorly planned ideas. By looking at how these factors contributed to the degradation of the lake, hopefully we will be able to make more ecological sound decisions in the future.

The Battle of Lake Champlain was an important victory because it created a dent in the British plan to invade from the North and it ultimately convinced the British to surrender the War of 1812, which caused the US to gain worldwide respect. To begin, the British had been trying to invade America from the south, but they had very little success. They then decided to try and invade from the North, using Plattsburg, a city on the shores of Lake Champlain, as their headquarters for the invasion. This is why it was so vital that the US won the Battle of Lake Champlain because it hurt the British plan to invade by destroying a major part of their plan. This also convinced them that it would be too difficult and expensive for the benefit they would

One of Barry Counties most visited and largest lakes is none other than Gun Lake. The lakefront is home to a deep Indian history that reflects the extensive development of the surrounding area over the years. The lake is a key area in Barry County for recreation and tourism, but its rich history is its most important aspect.
Page 2: The lake and area around it is used for many reasons by humans and animals alike, and I believe
This summer one scientific thing I did was use a water mat on Lake Winnipesaukee. A water mat is a giant raft that floats on the surface of the water. It's constructed from the same styrofoam type material that a pool noodle is made out of. It is extremely versatile and can be used in many different ways. The way that I enjoyed using it the most was to jump from our pontoon boat onto the mat. I would make my way to the edge of the boat, steady myself, and leap, landing directly on top of the green float. The impact of the jump made my feet feel sore for a few seconds. When I was ready, I would hurdle myself off the mat and climb back onto the boat. While this activity does require a lot of skill, it requires a lot of science as well.

Lake Placid 3 can be a video from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, that is going to DVD later this month (October 26th). The picture debuted around the SyFy station July 21st and also the first film in the line was made long ago in 1999. The edition assessed this is actually the unrated content with loads of T & A, with all the best performance via Yancy Butler (Kickass) since the lout and part time hunter, Reba. Betty White has long been ignored inside the first picture and her alternatives, a bunch of small twenty somethings, certainly are a poor, soon-to-be useless alternative. Not so cuttingedge and never really family honest, Lake Placid 3 is simply plain average.

Primitive campsites, RV campsites and cottages on the lake are available at low rates.
Last Saturday, local anglers Bob Killgore, of Peaceful Pines, and Tim Smith, of Sonora, got into a somewhat remote lake in the Coffin Hollow area of Tuolumne County. The lake, named Clear Lake, was reached partly by ATV and partly on foot. They found the rainbows, up to 14-inches willing to bite on Power Eggs and they came out with one short of two limits. A good day of fishing and some great trout dinners coming up.
Chirp! Splash! Tweet! How was I supposed to sleep with all the different noises that nature produces? Spending time in the wild was not something I thought possible. One of my mom’s friend told us to go camping with them at Apex, North Carolina and visit Jordan Lake. Jordan Lake is known for their recreational events which include: boating, fishing, camping, hiking and much more.
Lakes: Hickman and Flare: both will continue to stay behind the door per Captain Marquez, were put on secure management by security. Paper work was completed and filed.

One of the most important parts about of earth is the vast biodiversity. As defined by the American Museum of Natural History biodiversity “refers to the variety of life on Earth at all its levels, from genes to ecosystems, and can encompass the evolutionary, ecological, and cultural processes that sustain life. Biodiversity includes not only species we consider rare, threatened, or endangered but also every living thing – from humans to organisms we know little about, such as microbes, fungi, and invertebrates.”(1) The biodiversity of our planet is a fundamental part of every ecosystem that exists. Without biodiversity, crucial parts of our ecosystems are lost. The value of biodiversity extends beyond just what the types of life on earth are, but each and every species possess a role in their ecosystem, whether that be as a predator, prey, or performing certain activities that stabilize their ecosystem. As humans, we depend heavily on biodiversity as a means of food, for materials, medicine, along with many other direct and indirect purposes. In this day and age, at my biodiversity conservation organization, I am interested in the biodiversity of Australia. The continent of Australia is home to more than 80% of wildlife that is unique to their continent. Australia being the 6th largest country in the world, has many unique ecosystems and biodiversity that must be conserved.
