What we know today as the communication environment has had substantial changes throughout history. Advancement and innovation are not always welcomed by all, as there is always a fear of the unknown, however modifications and changes occur with and without our approval. These advancements are powered by the desire for more revenue, innovations in technology, the human desire for communication, and the aftermath of the industrial revolution. These occurrences have in term have led to the altering of where we live, where we invest our labour power, how we work and communicate with others throughout the globe.

An increase of part time and temporary jobs, less unionized positions, mergers of huge companies and a dramatic increase of transnational corporations. In most of human history people had the same occupation or worked for the same company for their whole adulthood. This is certainly not the case today, Individuals change their employer many times during their working life. For example in trades such as electrical work, one must attend trade school, do a certain amount of practical or coop hours, start working for a company in order to gain some experience, continue his career working for a company with better benefits and pay, register in a union. As time progresses, a buy-out or a merger may occur, leaving the individual vulnerable and in need to reapply for a new positions. Therefore in some instances, professionals may work for a new company with a different name, but under the same management. Some of the better skilled and more fortunate professionals open their own business. All of these are the aftermath of the industrial revolution and Fordism
The Industrial Revolution brought about a more advanced era with lasting effects. Due to these effects, we can live easier, more comfortable lives that last longer and are, in comparison, far better. Some of these effects are still evident today. However, not all of them were positive, nor were all of them negative. While some might argue that Industrialization had primarily negative consequences for society because of poor living and working conditions, it was actually a positive thing for society. Industrialization’s positive effects included better business, a ready workforce, and more efficient machines, production, and transportation.
The Industrial Revolution began in England during the 18th Century. This revolution started out in England, and spread throughout Europe and North America. Many technologic and agricultural advances were made during this time. Factories became the main source of production, rather than in home workers. This resulted in many people living in rural areas to move into industrialized cities, which was called rural to urban migration. Q6. In my opinion, without the occurrence of the Industrial Revolution, conquering Africa would have been a much harder goal to achieve for the Europeans. The Industrial Revolution brought many new advancements for the Europeans, it gave them an edge over the Africans. I believe that if the Europeans had tried to take over Africa it would've been a much harder and longer process. Many different aspects would be changed without the Industrial Revolution.

For example, the cotton gin was introduced, a machine where cotton was separated from the seed, for we could make cotton products faster. Trains and steamboats were introduced too, making it easier to transport people and goods around America. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the industrial revolution was at its way, gaining many economic and technological advances but the price of hardship forced onto the workers and children during this time was paid. During this time period rural societies transformed into urban/industrial ones and a shift from working at home to factories and mass production with machinery.
