It is a controversy. Should the United States enter and escalate the war with the Islamic state? Even experts opinions are conflicting on this point. The article on the website Newsela discusses these two opinions. The con side is written by John B. Quigley, a professor of law at the Ohio State University; James Jay Carafano , a 25-year old army veteran, is representing the pro side. Which, in my opinion, definitely is the winning side in this argument. ISIS didn't just take several human lives, they took from us a basic need: security.
As a result, the responsibility of the United States is to do something. Many European countries are already at war with ISIS. They realised that there is no time for just waiting until the next attack. And the next attack is going

To that the the Iraqi military also need troops from the western-powers after the war to stabilize the new government. This shows that there is more to the war than just the military fighting. Just like after World War II in Germany: The whole hierarchy in the country needs to be broken down and reorganized. Quigley’s main argument is that “we cannot rely on force alone,” an idea with which I totally agree. But with force added, as already explained in paragraph 1, there is no time to wait for the next terrorist attack. There is a need to act quickly. Quigley is arguing that we have to change their views, the views that have generated terror attacks. With which, again, he is totally right, but again, is still not enough.
It is our obligation to cause positive change while we are physically fighting against them. Just trying to change some radicalists views is not enough in a war against the most dangerous terror organization in the world’s history. We need to fight them with all our western intelligence and strategy. But we need to
Chief among the threats to the United States today is ISIS. To be able to know how to properly address this problem, one need only look at the beginning of the conflict to understand how to end it. The reason ISIS went from a ragtag militia to an armed force capable of fighting both the Iraqis and Syrians, was with the equipment and training provided by the US government and our allies. This was done with the explicit purpose to enact regime change and create a free, secular state. Granted, at the time they thought they were arming democratic loving rebels. But doesn 't that just prove that we don 't have the competence to be getting ourselves involved in conflicts where we can 't tell who the good guys are?
A modern issue that is affecting our nation is the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria also known as ISIS. ISIS is noted to be a terrorist group that has caused many attacks against the United States of America and many other countries. Their goal is to build a caliphate state (Pierpaoli, 2015). ISIS uses “persecution and extermination” to those who enter its territories or go against them. This is a problem because ISIS is currently a threat to the United States. The people affected by this problem are the citizens of the U.S. the people in the Middle East, and their allies, France and
ISIS has been a rapidly increasing threat to not just the United States of America, but the entire world. ISIS has done countless brutal, sick, heart wrenching things that have caused a national and international uproar in the citizens of numerous countries. ISIS considers them the Islamic State, and they seem to have many motives. They basically want a large portion of the Middle east under ISIS control and for the rest of the world to accept their disgusting “traditions” as they claim they are doing, This threat has done some very unspeakable things; the problem needs to be solved. Considering the view the United State holds right now, there are a few actions that can be taken to reduce this threat that ISIS presents. ISIS has rapidly become an enormous problem for most of, if not all of the world. There are some very simple and some very complicated ways to solves this problem. The most efficient way is to simple go to war with ISIS and physically, mentally and emotionally destroy everything and everyone that is supporting this cause, another way is to give them what they desire to have, finally the last option is just completely ignore the foreign issue until it presents itself on U.S. soil. After an online video emerged on Tuesday, January 21st, 2015, showing ISIS threatening to kill two Japanese hostages, relatively little was known about the relationship between the two prisoners. But Reuters News revealed later that next day
The United States is at risk of new terrorist organization. Resent attacks on parise shows the reach of this new terror group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. Al Qaeda has evolved into something more serious ISIS. The United States has a moral responsibility to protect itself and others from the threat ISIS poses and the rules that ISIS inforce. The people of the world have the right to practice their religion in their own way and not live in fear of groups like ISIS.
War on terror is essential for safety of individuals around the world. War on terror’s definition is a country's actions against terrorist groups who cause damage or deaths to a country's property/civilians. Today a terrorist group by the name ISIS is causing havoc around the world. Three countries in specific are taking initiative to the ISIS war on terror, they are US, Egypt, and Turkey. Each country takes their own unique actions against ISIS, however they all have the common goal, destroy ISIS and make sure they do not come back. Here is the US’ intentions in one sentence by President Obama, “we must define our effort … as a series of persistent, targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America.”1
ISIS has been causing all over the middle east as well as America to live in such fear. Everyone is in debate about the U.S going to war with ISIS, there are tons of pros and cons to this serious situation. Washington is overdue for a serious debate about what U.S. national interests are threatened by the Iraq crisis. ISIS today represents a direct and growing threat to the United States, it has attracted an estimated 12,000 foreign fighters. It seems like this mess with ISIS will not end until America does something about it. We have troops and soldiers for a reason right? To protect America why not put them in action and make them
On Tuesday September 13th an ISIS factory hidden in Iraq was bombed by US aircraft. The hidden factory was also used at ISIS headquarters. It took 12 planes to bomb the headquarters at 50 different points. But the problem is after this attack, the United States
Dr. Christoper Sirridge used to be in the US Medical Corps and it still very up to date with the "hot topics". When I asked him about ISIS recruitment he so generously helped me understand the militaries point of view. When asked if the US military should get involved with ISIS recruitment he said "The U.S. Military has no role in actively being involved in stopping or decreasing ISIS recruitment. ISIS recruitment is regionally political, highly sectarian, and at times confusingly cultural. The U.S. Military has zero credibility when being involved in cultural, religious, and the highly politically charged Arabic/Muslim environment. We are “The Intruder”. We are “The Infidel” We are “The West”. We are actually unacceptable to everyone who indigenously belongs to the Arab
ISIS is an unquestionably dangerous and potentially irrational force that needs to be migrated someway. Others may conclude ISIS is not extremely powerful, so why is military intervention needed? Just because ISIS is not extremely powerful now does not mean they won't be someday. A good and accurate example of that is the NAZIs. Yes, the Nazis killed way many more, but just give ISIS time and opportunity; perhaps they'd compete.
ISIS and many terrorist groups have been recently attacking at will throughout the entire world. The terrorist group of ISIS is the biggest and most widely known terrorist group recently. One of the biggest controversial arguments today is if the United States should go to war with terrorist groups such as ISIS and others. I believe that the best solution to this argument is to not go to war with terrorist groups or ISIS just yet.
Centuries of tyrants have taught humanity one thing, the world is a cruel and terrible place. It is full of people who will do anything in their power to be at the top, which exactly what the terrorist organization ISIS are doing right now. They are relatively new on the stage of wreaking havoc on the globe starting only in 2014. They have had the quickest rise to power going viral and fighting to gain ground ground physically, all while the US has used its best efforts to use counterterrorism to combat them. It has been a long two years since their grand opening and they are far from over.
In 2006 al-Qaeda became known as the Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) and eventually took its final form as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). ISIL is believed to be a response to western military intervention in the Muslim world. In fact, prior to the war in Iraq there was no Taliban in Pakistan and significant extremist groups. Also, before Operation Iraqi Freedom al-Qaeda did not even exist. This exemplifies the idea that whenever the United States gets involved in foreign affairs rebel groups form in response. Unfortunately, rather than take responsibility for the rise of ISIL, the United states only focuses on how they can get rid of the problem. This shows a lack of responsibility by the United States, and instills a level of distrust by United States citizens. ISIL groups have ravaged terror into this region since they were first established, and they have gotten more malicious in response to military endeavors in their country. For example, ISIL declared war on the Shiites in Iraq in response to their collaborations with the United States in attacking Sunni villages that were harboring ISIL members. This is believed to be a key event in the emergence of ISIL and the high interest that people had in joining. Although the ISIL members were once in collaboration with Sunni Muslims, their relations fell apart because ISIL could not follow the Islamic laws that pertained
The war on ISIS has been going on for many years yet many people have not even know of it till just the recent upcoming months. ISIS has been building up its resources, 3 years ago ISIS did not exist, but today it is growing stronger by the minute. They have been plotting and planning many different attacks, but the U.S. has been keeping a watchful eye on them and carefully watching their every move.
The last year 's terrorist attack in Belgium raises more serious question in regard of national security issues in the western world. After the Paris attacks, the Belgian authorities have been working hard to protect their people, and fighting against the terrorism. However, their security measure failed to defend with terrorist attack at Brussels International Airport and City metro station. This new attack exemplifies the weakness of the Belgium 's security forces, and explores the tactics about the ISIS terrorist groups that hide and work in Western countries. I believe ISIS has been losing their territory in the ground, which means they are defensive on their tactic. So, they have been focusing on different tactics to terrorize people
ISIL is a huge problem already and responsible for human rights abuses and war crimes. The US, until now has sent only airstrikes to devastate ISIL. While this has suppressed the problem, it has not pushed ISIL back. If ISIL is not pushed back, it will surely become an even larger problem for not only the Middle East but also to Western countries as well. It poses a moral threat to the United States’ ideals of liberty and justice, which are perfect grounds for the United States to send ground troops to fight it.
