Recycling Saves The World Recycling is one of the most important things that the human race should be doing right now. As the population grows, more materials will be needed to sustain it. Things like wood, plastic, aluminum, etc. These materials are used to support the human race in so many ways like transportation and storage. However, these materials will not last forever, especially with the growth rate of our population. That is where recycling comes in. Those materials can be used again and again and again, without having to create more of it. If everyone recycled, then the world could keep sustaining the population without running out of materials. Everyone should be required to recycle because it protects the environment, it will sustain our population for longer, and be more cost effective. Recycling does a ton to protect our environment. Things like plastic and aluminum are very hard to break down, so when they are thrown into landfills, they pollute the soil and stay there for a long time to come. Landfills take up huge portions of land which may sometimes be unusable after. In Lawrence’s article, Daviess County was estimating that “more than 2,600 tons of waste could be removed from the landfill each year” (Lawrence). These were numbers gotten from collecting curbside recyclables from certain counties and estimating for how much could be taken from trash. If everyone person could recycle like that, the amount of trash taken from a landfill would be record breaking. Another effect to the environment that could be helped from recycling are the oceans. Plastic causes much damage to the oceans since it is nearly impossible to be broken down. In the article, it mentions that plastic is "persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic substances” (UNEP year book: phosphorus and plastic pollute world's oceans). It heavily affects wildlife in the ocean causing problems with the ecosystems. If everyone recycled, problems like these wouldn’t be happening. Another reason everyone should recycle is to sustain the population for longer. The earth has very limited resources, so the human race must use them very carefully. So, it is best to re-use these resources whenever possible. The article states “Modern industrial
If everyone were to just stop recycling no one would really see a change in their regular days and people would think it would all seem the same and it doesn't affect them. However, the environment we live in effects everyone and as stated by Marck Recycling each person regularly generates 4.38 pounds of waste per day which would all go to trash if you weren't recycling so it would multiply by 7.125 billion people on earth and we would end up with 31.2 billion pounds of waste in landfills every single day. It would also have an impact on how we manufacture resources since we do have a certain amount of natural resources. Many people may think well we can plant more trees to create more resources however, cutting trees down is quicker than a tree growing. So overall, not recycling would have a negative impact in how we get and create resources but also landfills and
Recycling and composing initiatives should be adopted and put into practice in communities throughout the United States. Recycling helps improve the enviorment we live in.By recycling we can make the enviorment a much neater place. In fact recycling can help save money.
Recycling doesn’t affect people that much, but it does affect wildlife and animals. Like the six pack rings, soda comes in, fish get caught in it and they die. Another thing is plastic bags get thrown into the ocean and turtles mistake it for jellyfish, eat it and die. Would you believe me if I told you that glass, aluminum, paper and plastic are not A report from the Federal Highway Administration shows that 80 percent of the asphalt that is removed each year during widening and resurfacing is reused. Recycling has been around for thousands of years, but we still need to recycle even though people thought of this a long time ago. A consequence is the New York City Landfill. The New york city landfill contains 2.9 billion cubic feet of trash. The new york city landfill can be seen from space. The new york landfill is one of the only things that can be seen from space. Another consequence is that farmers in Wisconsin and Minnesota are just now starting to recycle. Minnesota and Wisconsin farms produce 60 million to 80 million pounds of plastic every year, but until now they had no way to get rid of it besides throwing
For example, more than 80% of the oceans surfaces are covered in trash or polluted. Therefore, if we continue to throw trash away, many of our natural resources will be gone before our eyes. We are responsible for this planet so we should start treating it better. Not only would it help the planet but also it would protect our wildlife. One big result of not recycling is the Great Barrier Reef. Recently the Great Barrier Reef has been in its worst condition as possible. There has been tons of trash surfacing the water, the wild life as starting to die out because of it and the list continues. But thankfully, there are people out there that are trying to save it from becoming nothing but a polluted ocean. Another reason why we should recycle is it creates more jobs more people. An estimated 1.56 billion people in the US are currently homeless. Why not help them out and the environment by hiring more people for recycling related jobs. It would not only help the environment but it would help people in need for
Recycling is presently one of the most controversial topics, considering that while most individuals put across their support regarding the act the number of individuals who actually do something in order to recycle is much smaller. Many people are currently unable or unwilling to recycle properly because the process often requires a series of changes in one's life. It is thus essential for the authorities to provide educational programs meant to assist individuals in understanding why recycling is important and in learning how to recycle effectively. People need to accept the fact that the benefits of recycling will reflect on the future and that conditions are currently critical as a result of the fact that the masses are generally unacquainted with the importance of this process.
Audience Relevance: Recycling is something most people choose to ignore. Recycling helps the world by reusing trash to make new products. As a result, this helps reduce the amount of trash that rot in landfills and pollution.
Increased recycling means less trash entering landfills. The greatest environmental benefit of recycling is the use of energy and natural resources when old materials are used to make new products. Many consider recycling an easy task. Products that become garbage have an effect on global warming, which makes recycling as a viable option. The phrase ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ was coined to promote recycling and a clean environment. Recycling is a simple way in which people can contribute to making a better world. It takes time and effort to collect, separate and send trash away. Recycling effects every aspect of our environment—homes, schools and hospitals.

The world would be much better if we would recycle the things that can be recycled. We can just use them for a different use, or the same it was before. Doing little things like picking up trash on the side of the road and wash it or something can be used for something different than just trash. There are many ways to recycle.
Yes, recycling is often preferable to sending materials straight to the landfill, but recycling has its own demons. A big concern regarding recycling is the possibility of encouraging over consumption. As award winning environmental journalist Amy Westervelt explains in her essay, “Can Recycling Be Bad for the Environment”, people will ease the guilty they feel for massively over-consuming disposable goods by tossing the used items into their recycling bins (213). But not everything that’s recyclable gets recycled—recycling is
Recycling helps extend the life of products that have served its initial purpose and is converted into new materials. It makes the environment clean, saves energy, conserves materials, and reduces garbage in landfills and all of this helps our community tremendously. I personally recycle regularly; in my home we have multiple boxes where my family separates the products we use such as metals, paper, glass, and plastics and then we take them to a recycling center. There are countless people that drink beverages from aluminum and we use paper products every day. Recycling paper products decreases the number of trees cut and preserves the environment. A great thing about the GSU recycling program is that it is easy to practice this on campus
These days, our earth has been filled by a lot of waste. There is a lot of garbage, plastic waste, and electronic waste. We always produce it and dump it when we need the new one. Our waste are piling up and continuously accumulating. Plastic waste is one of the biggest problems for us now. And our solution in this problem is recycling. In my opinion, recycling is a way to manage used items into new products. We can reduce, reuse, and recycling (3R) waste management (Peter, 2013). We can reduce our waste clothes with reuse it. There are some reasons why peoples recycle used or unwanted items, which are, prevent wasting unusable materials that still have usage after recycled, reduce the application of raw materials, reduce energy
People Need to Recycle In the United Sates, where the population is inflated every year. The amount of space for landfills decreases every day. The need for recycling should not be asked, it should just be done out of habit. Everyone in America needs to recycle, to help the lamdfill problem, help the environment, and help produce new products from recycled goods. In America there is about two-hundred and eight tons of residential and commercial trash generated a year, 4.3 pounds per person a day (Prichard 1A). This is an overwhelming amount of trashed produced yearly. When people recycle this number can be drastically cut. But many people do not practice and use
The first benefit of recycling is it creates less trash in the landfills. Americans throw away approximately 100 million tons of trash per year causing landfills to become scarce and lacking space. Meghan stated in her blog, “According to the EPA, recycling can cut this waste by up to 32 percent, which equates to about 60 million tons of trash.”
Our world is getting closer and closer to being enclosed in trash. This excess trash is producing hazards which can be prevented simply by recycling. Although the government should be doing their job to prevent these threats and effectively initiate recycling programs, it’s ultimately up to us because they aren’t worried about these dangers. Our president believes global warming is a hoax. Luckily there are tons of independent organizations out there actually trying to make a change. Recycling is a beneficial process that isn’t required although it should be. Unfortunately, people just aren’t educated enough about the topic. The entire process of recycling includes 3 rudimentary steps. The used material has to be composed, and then
