Summer is a broad topic and can mean a lot of different things for a lot of different people but I decided to select images I believe a broad amount of people will be able to relate to. All of us have had a childhood and all of us have experienced summer, to be able to remind someone of a past summer is what my intentions with my concentration were. I believe by exploring various experiences a person may have had during their summer, my images will be able to resonate with them. I have drawn on memories others have had from their summers as well as mine and have attempted to use those memories to display images that will make people imagine summer. I do believe my images most closely reference the summers of an adolescent and the fun one might
No one believed Margot that she saw the sun so she was told she was wrong. However, she still didn’t stop participating in the sun related class activities. Her most precious memory was of the sun and it brought another theme. The jealousy theme still has more effect than cherishing what you have while you have it. When people are controlled by jealousy they never know it. When people are relieved of jealousy, they realize the wrong they did while they were controlled. All Summer In A Day can teach readers many important lessons and it is important to learn from them because it can substantially help in real
In All Summer in a Day the sun symbolizes happiness. The sun shows the happiness the kids feel. Such as when they finally lock margot away then become happy because she was causing them to be sad. The sun
When I think of a summer day, I think about the ocean breeze, palm trees, salty air, and sun kissed hair. I think of the beaches where people are allowed to show a lot of skin without any judgements. It’s when people order refreshing drinks instead of hot cocoa. It’s when teenagers are worryless because it’s vacation time. Let’s just say, summer days are just the best days. This poem by Mary Oliver, called “The Summer Day,” emphasizes my vision. This poem indicates a metaphor for how short life is, and how we act on certain situations without even realizing it.
Summer – Summer symbolized the fun times all of the boys had in the Devon School. Summer was before the gossip of the close proximity of the war, before the talk of enlistment, before Leper lost his sanity, and most of all, it was before Gene made Phineas fall from the tree.
All of my past summers have always followed the same path, but this year summer took a different path. This summer was more about surviving than having fun. They have always been about spending time with friends, sleeping, and just relaxing. When you are a kid that is what summer is all about, but as you get older it changes. This summer I had to juggle more than just friends and fun. I had to juggle work, practice, training, and just trying to hang with my friends.
Just think of tanning in the sand on a beach and sipping a sweet drink. To some, that sounds like the life. The summer season is by far better than the winter. Summer has so many more perks and positive traits than Winter. Some find themselves even getting depressed in the Winter. Although, I do thank mother nature for giving Summer.
In my eighteen years of my life, this summer has surely been the most memorable. It was filled with countless wonderful memories during these past three months. This summer was filled with loads of amusement, excitement, nerves, and sadness. Summer started one week early, however, other than that it was to an extent, the same as the other summers. I spent a vast deal of my time working, with my friends and family, and in the gym.
For most people, Summer is the best part of the year. No school, no homework, just a few months of paradise. Many people spend their summer traveling, playing sports, or just hanging out. But freshman Robert Carbajal enjoys his summer at the skate park.
With summer almost over, I can't help but look back on the past few months. Mid-May I was completely blindfolded, I dived into the summer months without any goals or any idea of what it would bring.
The article “Summertime” was well written. Personally, I enjoyed reading the article. It drew me in at the very start. From my current situation the article is relatable to the circumstances I have faced and will face.
That's when summer really flexes its muscles: It brings back string bikinis, or makes the air conditioning in your office way too cold, or hikes the price of an iced latte to four bucks.
I chose to look at the poem by Anne Sexton, Y ou ng. I believe this poem epitomizes the concept of an American summer. Anne writes about her summer and what she remembers. Her lines, “I lay on the lawn at night, clover wrinkling over me,”, remind me greatly of my experiences during the summer. An American summer is often characterized as warm, happy, and full of life. A field of clover emulates the idea of happiness. Summer nights are also thought of as warm, and some consider them happy as well. Sexton’s line, “as the crickets ticked together”, reminds me of summer because where I come from, crickets chirp all night long. “And I...told the stars my questions,” is relevant to the idea of America because with hard times, many look to the stars
Also stated in Quindlen’s essay was the topic of the summertime and how it has changed for the schoolchildren of this era. When I was in elementary school, summer meant sleeping as late as possible and not seeing most

It was a nice day, it was the beginning of fall, trees everywhere, I could taste the cool crisp air while it touched my skin. The warm sun had a nice comfortable temperature, it was a nice light blue sky, and a scarce amount of clouds, I felt like Shanghai’s weather was actually bearable for once. I looked all around me, recalling everything that I might of forgotten during the Summer. Ahh Summer, so many good memories come back from that word. Like playing sports outside in the nice crisp summer breeze or just sitting inside and doing nothing, they all come to mind.
