Temperatures in Puerto Rico are moderate year round, averaging near 80 and 70 °F. Puerto Rico has a rainy season which stretches from April into November. The mountains of the Cordillera Central are the main cause of the variations in the temperature and rainfall that occur over very short distances. That is one of the reasons why sometimes it rains a lot. The weather is not a problem in Puerto Rico because even when raining people is go outside to get wet. By that I mean that even during a rain or storm, there are still ways to stay entertained in Puerto Rico. The casinos are open no matter what's going on outside. How about when is summer time people go to the beaches to enjoy that warm water. People bring towels to lay down under the palms trees. In the fall, (September- November)
Growing up as a child living in a Dominican household I have always heard that living in the Dominican Republic and living in New york are complete two different environments and lifestyles. When arriving to the Dominican Republic it was as if a whole new world opened up to me. Puerto Plata was full of different changes; the streets were full of wandering animals, there wasn’t as many cars as there is back home, and mopeds were racing with several people on them at a time. The differences that I experienced were nothing that I have seen before. America is in constant expansion of technology while the Dominican is further set back. When you travel to different parts of the world you begin to see how people live their lives differently. The culture along with the aspects of living are completely different from what we are used to seeing in our everyday lives.
A lot of people will argue, that college is too expensive. Not everyone can go to college, for financial reasons. Also, they may get into college, but end up having to leave because they cannot afford the remaining balances; or, they received financial aid, but end up having to take out loans they are going to be paying back forever. It is like once they graduate they will be working mostly to pay off their student loan debt. This also discourages some students. In some cases, they will not even take the initiative to try because it is so costly. I do not understand why it cost so much to want to better yourself, and possibly put us in debt for the rest of our life just to receive a higher education. Not only has the cost of college risen over a period of time, but it continues to go up. Yes, they have alternatives for paying student debts, but what if you do not qualify? Lastly, you are not guaranteed a job just because you graduate and have a college degree(s).
