1-3 Journal: Company Research and Selection
The company selected for this project is Randstad N.V. The company is generally known
and occasionally stylized as Randstad. The Dutch multinational human resource consulting firm headquarters is in Diemen, Netherlands. The company was founded in the Netherlands in 1960 by Frits Goldschmeding. Currently, the company operates in about 39 countries. The company's customer base is professionals, staffing, in-house, global businesses, and digital services. The company primarily serves companies and individuals. Randstad supports business productivity by finding the right people and matching them with great jobs. The company also handles custom project solutions and consulting. The business vision is utilizing innovative technologies and a passion for people to provide them with the best experience. Life has changed for us all; however, based on current events from the past year, one obstacle the company currently faces is talent scarcity, which affects the blue and white-collar employers equally. This obstacle will impact Randstad's revenue and market share tremendously due to the lack of employees. How can they add new hires when there is talent scarcity exists? One suggestion to help new hires is lower qualifications for prospective candidates. That way, Randstad will be enabling the pool of workers to a much bigger pool that will allow them to fill those positions needed. Existing hiring challenges damage the industry; setting the company apart to inquire more candidates is always a great look for the company.

Is the following statement correct?
Vertical integration is the process of a company expanding its operations either backward into an industry that produces inputs for the company’s products, such as raw materials or product components. For example, producing car batteries is an input of the automotive industry but can also be integrated vertically. Vertical integration can also be done forward into an industry that uses, distributes, or sells the company's products and it moves to the final delivery of the product to the customer. The parallel shifts from car ownership to the mobility of demands change the automotive industry. Car manufacturers test different business models, such as car sharing, in order to morph into mobility providers which is a typical forward integration strategy.

The decreased emphasis on job levels should encourage employees to make cross-functional moves to jobs that are on the same or an even lower level because their pay rate would remain unchanged. Broad banding allows for more flexibility within ranges, allows more movement of employees within the ranges, and can reduce the need for promotions. The use of broad-banding has declined in recent years because each band consists of a broad range of jobs and the market value of these jobs may vary considerably. Unless carefully monitored, employees in jobs at the lower end of the band could progress to the top of the range and become overpaid.
The challenging question here is
What does effect the relationship between “Job Worth” and “Average Hourly Pay” based on the Pay Grades and Range?

Tomato growers in the Netherlands have a huge productivity advantage over their competitors in Italy and Greece. Although those countries are sun drenched while the Netherlands are anything but, computerized, climate-controlled greenhouses, and a "soil" spun from basalt and chalk that resembles cotton candy, allows for precise control of humidity and nutrition, and enables growers to produce their crops year around. Growers in Italy and Greece generally grow their crops outdoors or in unheated greenhouses, and can only manage two crops a year. Dutch growers are able to achieve yields that are about ten times per square yard of those of Italian and Greek growers. And the Dutch have a supply chain advantage: an integrated Dutch trading company works closely with supermarket chains in Europe and suppliers around the world, so farmers are able to sell their output in high volume, rather than locally the way many farmers in other countries do. That enables Dutch growers to more closely…
