Islam and Christianity are two major monotheistic religions with significant differences in their beliefs, practices, and histories but with some similarities also. It's crucial to note that even within both Islam and Christianity, there is considerable diversity of beliefs and practices among different sects, denominations, and cultural groups. “The Arabic word Islam means “submission” or “surrender,” and this signifies the key human problem identified by Islam” 1 . The Quran is considered the holy book of Islam, believed to be the literal word of God as revealed to Muhammad. Additionally, Muslims follow the Hadith, which consists of the sayings and actions of the Prophet Muhammad. On the contrary, the Bible is the sacred scripture for Christians, divided into the Old Testament and the New Testament. The New Testament focuses on the life and teachings of Jesus, and includes the synoptic gospels, epistles, and other writings. “Three key issues to understand when engaging Muslims in evangelism are (1) the charge that the Trinity amounts to polytheism, (2) the Muslim denial of the incarnation of Christ, and (3) the claim that Old Testament Yahweh wars are just like Islamic jihad” 2 Muslims e mphasize the oneness of God (Allah) and rejects the concept of the Trinity since it appears as though Christians are serving three different Gods. Muslims believe in the absolute transcendence and uniqueness of God. Christians however believe in the Holy Trinity—Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. The trinity concept asserts that these three entities are distinct but inseparable, constituting one God. Muslims recognize Jesus as a prophet, not as the Son of God. Muslims also recognize Jesus as born of the virgin Mary and that he performed miracles. Muslims do not accept the crucifixion but believe that Jesus was taken up to heaven without being crucified, which is an interesting and crucial point because it affirms or denies the salvation for humanity. The death, burial and resurrection are central tenets of Christian belief. Christians, view Jesus as the Son of God and the savior of humanity via His crucifixion. Muslims believe in individual accountability for one's actions on the Day of Judgment and as a result focus on good works and deeds. Christians believe that salvation is only through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Jesus is not   a   way, like one option out of many; Jesus is the one and only way.
