This paper will cover the comparison of two cars manufactured by two heavy weight American car companies. Based on the research that was done, it determined that the Ford Mustang wins in two of the three categories in which it was judged. This comparison will cover three separate categories: sales, performance, and pop culture. This has been a debate for over fifty years and will continue to be for the foreseeable future. Even after these two companies disappear there will still be debate on which is greater. All citations are from the manufacturer’s official page, major automotive magazines, and performance branches of each vehicle. (Seaman, 2015) The Chevrolet Camaro did not do as well with only selling just over 670,000 vehicles in the first three years. Over the past fifty three years Ford Motor Company has sold a total of 9,606,704 Mustangs. (Seaman, 2015) The 2014 Mustang GT500 is the latest high performance vehicle offered by Ford Motor Company. It is equipped with a 5.8 liter supercharged dual overhead cam V8 that produces 662 horsepower and 632 pound feet of torque. The coupe edition weighs right at 3845 pounds.(Words, 2015) This version of the Mustang completed the quarter mile in 11.6 seconds and finished at the speed of 125.7 miles per hour.(Words, 2015) The fastest time recorded by the GT500 at the Nürburgring was 7:39.280 with an average speed of 100 miles per hour.(Rall, 2013) It is important to note that the Mustang was quicker and faster than both the Camaro and Corvette when it was released in 2013. Generally, Ford has always been at the forefront when it comes to technology, design, and performance. The Mustang has been featured multiple times in American pop culture. The most notable feature was in the movie “Bullitt” starring Steve McQueen. This movie was known for the epic car chase between a black 1968 Dodge Charger and a 1968 Ford Mustang GT. Bullitt had earned a total of 42.3 million dollars in the box office.(Bullitt, 1968) This is roughly the equivalent to 307.6 million dollars in
