Describe the major features of this Website and how each feature can be used to monitor employee benefits. The mission of the Department of Labor is to foster, promote, and develop the welfare of the wage earners, job seekers, and retirees of the United States; improve working conditions; advance opportunities for profitable employment; and assure work-related benefits and rights. On the website, the DOL have assistance to help employers now if they are complying with federal laws and employees knowing if their benefit rights are protected. A summary plan description (SPD) is the benefits “handbook.” This document should explain the benefit in a way an average worker would understand.
