Agnes Mary Frances Robinson (1857–1944)

Darmesteter, Agnes Mary Frances (Robinson). An English poet; born in Leamington, 1857; died in 1944. She attained great proficiency in Greek studies, her verse showing the influence of Hellenic literature. In 1888 she married James Darmesteter, the Orientalist. Her writings include: ‘A Handful of Honeysuckle’ (1878); ‘An Italian Garden’ (1886); ‘Lyrics’ (1891); ‘Retrospect’ (1893); ‘Life of Renan’ (1897); ‘The Queen of Navarre’ (1900); ‘The Return to Nature’ (1904).
