Alaric Alexander Watts (1797–1864)

Watts, Alaric Alexander. An English educator, poet, and journalist; born in London, March 16, 1797; died at Kensington, April 5, 1864. His journalistic work was done with the Manchester Courier, the London Standard, and the United Service Gazette. He edited a series of annual volumes, ‘Literary Souvenir’ (1825–35). He published: ‘Poetical Sketches’ (1822); and ‘Lyrics of the Heart’ (1851).
