Paine, Albert Bigelow. An American author and editor; born in New Bedford, MA, July 10, 1861; died in 1937. He served on the New York Herald and the St. Nicholas, and was a frequent contributor to magazines. Among his works are: ‘The Mystery of Eveline Delorme’ (1894); ‘Gobolinks’ (with Ruth McEnery Stuart) (1896); ‘The Arkansaw Bear’ (1898); ‘The Deep Woods’ (1899); ‘The Bread Line’ (1900); ‘A Sailor of Fortune’ (1906); ‘Mark Twain, A Biography’ (1912).
