Aleksander Chodźko (1804–1891)

Chodźko, Aleksander (ċhōds’kō). A Polish poet and scholar; born in Krzywicze, July 11, 1804; died in Juvisy, Dec. 20, 1891. His versions of numerous masterpieces of Oriental literature are esteemed; but he is happiest in the ‘Slav Legends of the Middle Ages’ (1859) and ‘Bulgarian Studies’ (1875).
