Pels, Andries (pels). A Dutch poet of the seventeenth century; died at Amsterdam in 1681. His principal works are: ‘Death of Dido,’ a tragedy; ‘Iulfus,’ comedy; a poem ‘On the Use and Abuse of the Theatre’ (1671).
