Antonio de Zamora (c. 16601728?)
Zamora, Antonio de (thä-mō’rä). A Spanish dramatist; born at Madrid, between 1660 and 1664; died about 1728. He was highly esteemed by his contemporaries as a lyric and dramatic poet. Among his best works are: ‘Everybody is his Own Pedigree’; and ‘The Wag of Seville,’ on which is based the libretto of the opera of ‘Don Juan.’
