Bill Arp (1826–1903)

Arp, Bill (Charles Henry Smith). An American humorist; born in Lawrenceville, GA, June 15, 1826; died at Atlanta, GA, Aug. 25, 1903. His literary career began (1861) in a series of letters under the pseudonym above. His publications include: ‘Bill Arp’s Scrap-Book’ (1886); ‘The Farm and the Fireside’; and ‘Georgia as a Colony and State, 1733–1893.’
