Caleb Sprague Henry (1804–1884)
Henry, Caleb Sprague. An American clergyman and philosophical and miscellaneous writer; born at Rutland, MA, Aug. 2, 1804; died at Newburg, NY, March 9, 1884. He was professor in the University of New York 1838–52. He translated Guizot’s ‘History of Civilization,’ etc., and wrote ‘About Men and Things’ (1873); ‘Satan as a Moral Philosopher’ (1877); ‘The Endless Future of the Human Race’ (1879); and others.
