Cassius Marcellus Clay (1810–1903)

Clay, Cassius Marcellus. A distinguished American statesman; born in Madison County, KY, Oct. 19, 1810; died on July 22, 1903. He was one of the most powerful of the Southern Abolitionists. In 1862–69 he was minister to Russia. He wrote his own ‘Life and Memoirs.’
