Charles Kendall Adams (1835–1902)

Adams, Charles Kendall. An American historian and educator; born at Derby, VT, Jan. 24, 1835; died on July 26, 1902. He became president of Cornell University (1885), of the American Historical Association (1890), of the University of Wisconsin (1892). He wrote: ‘Democracy and Monarchy in France’ (1872); ‘Christopher Columbus, His Life and Work’ (1892); besides many valuable papers on historical and educational topics in reviews.
