Conrad Busken Huet (18261886)
Huet, Conrad Busken (hu-ā’). A Dutch journalist and miscellaneous writer; born in The Hague, Dec. 28, 1826; died at Paris, May 1, 1886. He was pastor of a church until 1862, when he became editor of the Haarlemmer Courant. He has produced some of Holland’s best literary criticism. ‘Literary Phantasies,’ ‘Dutch Literature,’ ‘Stories,’ and numerous essays, have given him a high place in the literature of Europe.
