Dwight Lyman Moody (1837–1899)

Moody, Dwight Lyman. A noted American evangelist; born at Northfield, MA, Feb. 5, 1837; died there, Dec. 22, 1899. With Ira D. Sankey he held revival meetings in the United States and Great Britain. He founded a School for Christian Workers in Northfield, and a Bible Institute in Chicago. Among his works are: ‘Arrows and Anecdotes’ (1877); ‘Secret Power’ (1881); ‘Bible Characters’ (1888); etc.
