Eben Eugene Rexford (1848–1916)

Rexford, Eben Eugene. An American poet; born at Johnsburg, Warren County, NY, July 16, 1848; died in 1916; lived in Shiocton, WI. He published in book form the poems ‘Brother and Lover’ and ‘Grandmother’s Garden’ (1887); and a story, ‘John Fielding and his Enemy’ (1888). He wrote the popular songs ‘Silver Threads among the Gold’ and ‘Only a Pansy-Blossom.’
