Edmund Venables (18191895)
Venables, Edmund. An English clergyman and archæologist; born in London, July 5, 1819; died in Lincoln, March 5, 1895. He was canon of Lincoln Cathedral from 1867, and wrote much on architecture and archæology, among his works being: ‘Walks through the Streets of Lincoln,’ widely popular; ‘History of the Isle of Wight’ (1860); ‘The Church of England: Its Planting, Settlement, Reformation, Renewed Life’ (1886); ‘Bunyan’ (1888).
