Edward King (1848–1896)
King, Edward. An American miscellaneous writer; born at Middlefield, MA, July 31, 1848; died at Brooklyn, NY, March 27, 1896. He was both a journalist—being well known as a Paris and a war correspondent—and an author. Among his works were: ‘My Paris, or French Character Sketches’ (1868); ‘Kentucky’s Love, or Roughing It around Paris’ (1872); ‘The Great South’ (1875); ‘A Venetian Lover’ (1887), a poem; ‘The Gentle Savage’ (1888), a popular novel.
