Edward Phillips (1630–1696?)

Phillips, Edward. An English miscellaneous writer, nephew of Milton; born at London, 1630; died about 1696?. He was a voluminous writer. Among his works are: ‘New World of English Words’ (1658); ‘Mysteries of Love and Eloquence; or, The Arts of Wooing,’ etc. (1658); ‘Compendious Latin Dictionary’ (1682); ‘Poem on the Coronation of his Most Sacred Majesty King James II. and his Royal Consort’ (1685).
