Enrico Castelnuovo (18391915)
Castelnuovo, Enrico (käs”tel-nö-ō’vō). An Italian novelist; born at Florence, 1839; died in 1915. His stories have attained great popularity; among them: ‘Prof. Romualdo’ (1878); ‘Smiles and Tears’ (1882); ‘Reminiscences and Fancies’ (1886); ‘The Return of Aretusa’ (1901). He is one of the acknowledged Italian masters of the “novel of the inner life” (romano intimo).
