Mackay, George Eric. A Scotch poet, son of Charles; born in London, Jan. 25, 1851; died there, June 2, 1898. “George Eric Lancaster.” Among his works are: ‘Songs of Love and Death’ (1865); ‘Ad Reginam’ (To the Queen; 1881, 3d ed.); the popular ‘Love Letters of a Violinist’ (1886); ‘A Lover’s Litanies’ (1888); ‘Nero and Actæa,’ a tragedy; etc.
