Ferenc Pulszky (1814–1897)
Pulszky, Ferenc Aurelius (pöl’skē). A Hungarian writer; born at Eperies (Sáros), Sept 17, 1814; died at Budapest, Sept. 9, 1897. After completing his studies, he traveled in Germany, Italy, France, and England. He wrote: ‘Journal of a Hungarian Traveler in Great Britain’ (1837); with his wife, ‘White, Red, and Black’ (3 vols., 1852), an account of Kossuth’s tour in the United States; also a historical novel, ‘The Jacobins in Hungary’ (2 vols., 1851); ‘My Time and my Life’ (4 vols., 1879–82); ‘The Age of Copper in Hungary’ (1884).
