Franco Sacchetti (c. 1330c. 1400)
Sacchetti, Franco (sä-ket’ē). An Italian poet; born at Florence about 1330; died about 1400. His most important work is the ‘Three Hundred Stories’—of which only 223 remain, and some of these are mutilated: they give a faithful picture of life in those days, with many satiric allusions. Among his poems the best are the ballads and the madrigals.
