Frank Richard Stockton (1834–1902)

Stockton, Francis Richard (Frank R.). An American journalist and novelist; born in Philadelphia, April 5, 1834; died in Washington, April 20, 1902. Among his works are: ‘Rudder Grange’; ‘The Lady, or the Tiger?’; ‘The Casting Away of Mrs. Lecks and Mrs. Aleshine’; ‘The Dusantes’; ‘The Bee-Man of Orn, and Other Fanciful Tales’; ‘Tales Out of School’; ‘The Hundredth Man’; ‘The Late Mrs. Null’; ‘Adventures of Captain Horn’; ‘The Great Stone of Sardis.’ (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
