George Bird Grinnell (1849–1938)

Grinnell, George Bird. An American ornithologist, editor, and author; born in Brooklyn, Sept. 20, 1849; died in 1938. He was long editor of Forest and Stream. His works deal principally with Indian life and folklore. Among the best known are: ‘The Story of a Prairie People’; ‘The Story of the Indian’; ‘Pawnee Hero Stories and Folk Tales’; ‘Jack, the Young Trapper.’
