George Horton (18601942)
Horton, George. An American author and journalist; born in Fairville, NY, in 1860; died in 1942. He was appointed consul at Athens by President Cleveland, and later edited the Chicago-Times Herald and the Chicago American Saturday Literary Supplement. Among his works are: ‘Songs of the Lowly’; ‘In Unknown Seas’; ‘Aphroessa’; ‘A Fair Brigand’ (1898); ‘Like Another Helen’ (1901); ‘The Edge of Hazard’ (1906); ‘Miss Schuyler’s Alias’ (1913).
