Georges Ohnet (18481918)
Ohnet, Georges (ō-nā’). A French novelist and dramatist; born in Paris, April 3, 1848; died in 1918. Among his dramatic works are ‘Regina Sarpi’ (1875) and ‘Martha’ (1877). His novels have appeared as serials in Figaro, L’Illustration, and the Revue des Deux Mondes, before being published in book form; some of them have been adapted to the stage, notably ‘The Forge Master.’ Among his stories are: ‘Black and Red’; ‘Doctor Rameau’ (1888); ‘Pierre’s Soul’ (1890); ‘Les Dames de Croix-Mort’ (1886); ‘La Comtesse Sarah’; ‘The March to Love’ (1902); ‘The Adventure of Raymond Dhautel’ (1910).
