Granville Stanley Hall (1844–1924)
Hall, Granville Stanley. An American educator and psychologist; born at Ashfield, MA, Feb. 1, 1844; died on 1924. On the establishment of Clark University at Worcester, MA, in 1888, he was made its president. He was the editor of the American Journal of Psychology and the Pedagogical Seminary, and the author of ‘Aspects of German Culture’ (1881); ‘Hints toward a Bibliography of Education’ (1886), with J. M. Mansfield; ‘Adolescence’ (1904); ‘Youth’ (1907); ‘Educational Problems’ (1911); ‘Founders of Modern Psychology’ (1911).
