Henry James Clark (18261873)
Clark, Henry James. An American naturalist and prose-writer; born in Easton, MA, June 22, 1826; died in Amherst, MA, July 1, 1873. He was associated in work with Agassiz for several years; also was professor in several colleges. Among his contributions to literature are: ‘Mind in Nature, or the Origin of Life, and the Mode of Development of Animals’ (1865); ‘Claims for Scientific Property’ (1863).
