Henry Theodore Cheever (1814–1897)

Cheever, Henry Theodore. An American prose-writer and divine, brother of George Barrell Cheever; born in Hallowell, ME, Feb. 6, 1814; died in 1897. His writings were popular, and include: ‘The Island World of the Pacific’ (1852); ‘Short Yarns for Long Voyages’ (1855); and ‘Correspondences of Faith and Views of Madame Guyon’ (1886).
