Hermann Heiberg (18401910)
Heiberg, Hermann (hī’berG). A German novelist; born in Schleswig, Nov. 17, 1840; died in 1910. He retired in 1870 from the publishing business left him by his father, to devote himself to letters and journalism. His numerous stories, novels, and essays have been widely read, particularly ‘Talks with the Duchess of Seeland.’ Other successful books include: ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’; ‘Blind Love’; ‘The Golden Serpent’; ‘Home’; ‘The Black Marit.’
