Jane Cunningham Croly (Jennie June) (18291901)
Croly, Jane (Cunningham) (“Jennie June”). An American prose-writer, wife of D. G. Croly; born in Market Harborough, England, Dec. 19, 1829; died in New York City, Dec. 23, 1901. For many years she was editor of Demorest’s magazine. She was one of the founders of “Sorosis” and its president for fourteen years, and one of the most active promoters of the Federation of Woman’s Clubs. She published: ‘Talks on Women’s Topics’ (1863). ‘For Better or Worse’ (1875); and ‘Three Manuals for Work’ (1885–89); etc.
