Jayadeva (jī-ä-dā’vä). A Sanskrit poet; born in Kenduli (?), about 1150?. He is known only as the author of the ‘Gita-Govinda’ or ‘Song of the Cowherd,’ an erotic poem. (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
