Jean Louis Scipio Puech (1624–1688)

Puech, Jean Louis Scipio (püch). A Provençal poet; born at Aix, 1624; died there, 1688. He took orders, and occupied successively various positions in the Church. The most remarkable of his Provençal poems is one called ‘The Bohemians’; and in French he published: ‘The Burning Chamber’; ‘Madeline Dying in the Desert’; ‘Christ on the Cross’; etc.
