Johannes Daniel Falk (17681826)
Falk, Johannes Daniel (fälk). A German humorist, philanthropist, and man of letters; born in Danzig, Oct. 28, 1768; died on Feb. 14, 1826. His satires were popular. He wrote also: ‘A Pocket Book for Friends of Jest and Satire’ (1797); ‘Men and Heroes’ (1796); and ‘Prometheus’ (1804), a dramatic poem.
