Karl Ludwig von Pöllnitz (1692–1775)

Pöllnitz, Karl Ludwig von (pėl’nits). A German adventurer, known as a writer of memoirs; born in 1692; died in 1775. He was at one time master of ceremonies at the court of Frederick the Great. He wrote: ‘La Saxe Gallante’ (1737: the private life of Augustus of Saxony), and ‘Memoirs’ of his own life and times (1734).
