Margarethe von Bülow (18601884)
Bülow, Margarete von (bü’lō). A German novelist (1860–84); born in Berlin. She wrote four volumes of stories, viz.: ‘Stories’ (1885); ‘Jonas Briccius’ (1886); ‘Chronicle of the Riffelshausen Folks’; and ‘New Stories.’ She delineated character with great precision, and showed true insight into the human heart. She lost her life in an attempt to rescue a boy from drowning.
