McClelland, Mary Greenway. An American novelist; born in Virginia; died on Aug. 2, 1895. Besides many stories and poems contributed to magazines, she wrote: ‘Oblivion’ (1885); ‘Princess’ (1886); ‘Jean Monteith’ (1887); ‘Madame Silva’ (1888); ‘Burkett’s Lock’ (1889); ‘Mammy Mystic’ and other novels and tales.
